These derringers were introduced in 1870 and totaled around 48,000 produced. The top of the barrel has the standard "-COLT-" marking in italics. The frame is attractively silver plated and the serial number is marked on the left of the grip frame. It has standard features and is fitted with a pair of smooth rosewood grips. Very fine, retains 75% of the original blue finish, the balance a smooth grey patina, and 95% plus of the original silver plating which shows an attractively aged patina. The grips are also very fine with a few patches of flaking varnish and a few light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
