Description:

This limited edition bronze cast is by the revered American sculptor, Mark Hopkins. Apart from being an extremely skilled artist, Hopkins operates and monitors his own sculpture foundry, ensuring the integrity of his work. His sculptures present unique visions of a wide variety of subject matter, from nature, to sports, to music, to religion, to humans and emotion. This example is numbered 29 out of a casting run of only 750 on the base, where the artists signature and 1992 copyright are also visible. The piece shows a Native American medicine man wearing a feathered headband and wrapped in a bear pelt. The medicine man has a bear's skull in his outstretched arm as if to invoke the spirit of the bear. The sculpture measures approximately 13 3/4 inches tall and approximately 10 inches wide at the widest point.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, showing an attractively aged patina overall with some scattered very light verdigris and exceptionally crisp detail. A fantastic sculpture for a desk or small display!
