Description:

Manufactured in 1893, the top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address and patent marking ending with "NOVEMBER 6th 1888". The circled Rampant Colt is marked on the left rear of the frame. The assembly number "846" is marked on the frame, cylinder latch, crane, barrel, and inside both grips. The full serial number is on the butt. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration, grips not listed, as well as shipment to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. in Chicago on 30 March 1893.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 85% plus of the untouched original nickel with the balance having thinned to a smooth brown patina and speckling, most noticeably on the back strap, and 90% of the original niter blue. The grips are very fine with the left panel showing an attractive faded chocolate tone, a few scattered light handling marks, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
