Manufactured c. early 1800s. The three stage barrel flares to approximately 1 1/4 inches at the muzzle (bore estimated above). The breech end of the barrel on the left side has London proof and view marks flanking an unclear maker's mark. The lock is signed "GIBBONS", has a roller on the frizzen spring, and a stepped tail. The furniture is brass and includes a pineapple finial, and floral engravings. The full-length stock has a checkered wrist. Ramrod absent.

Very good with attractive aged patina on brass, dark brown patina on the lightly pitted lock, general mild wear throughout. Stock is also very good with minor chips, flakes, and repairs; the checkering on the wrist is crisp and defined. Mechanically needs work (lock not holding at full cock).
