This late 18th or early 19th century pistol is signed "BLANCH" on the lock and "LONDON" on the barrel and has a smoothbore barrel that flares at the muzzle like a blunderbuss and is fitted with a folding "snap bayonet". The lock has a roller on the frizzen, a stepped tail, light engraving, and a half-cock safety. The trigger guard has a pineapple finial and floral engraving. The stock is plain and has a bag shaped wrist.

Fine with attractive aged patina on the brass barrel and furniture, mostly silver gray patina on the lock and bayonet, and minor overall wear. The stock is very fine and has light scratches and dings and smooth oiled finish. Both the lock and the reattached/re-soldered bayonet mechanism are mechanically excellent.
