This rifle was most likely assembled in the Victorian era and has a swamped octagon barrel with eight-groove rifling, a brass blade front sight, inlaid brass wreath design, empty rear sight dovetail, inlaid brass band with floral design, "1674" on top of the breech with accents, a wavy line marking on the upper left flat at the breech, false vent hole, and an engraved border ahead of the short tang. The lock has no visible markings and has some light sculpting and engraving accents. The stock features staghorn/bone accents, mother of pearl inlays on the cheekpiece and patch box lid, "1674" inscribed on the left side, and floral carving. An "HL/17" inventory tag is fitted on the bottom behind the iron, finger groove trigger guard. The trigger group, forward lock screw, and ramrod are absent.

Rating Definition:

Good with silver-gray patina on the iron, traces of pitting, aged patina on the brass, and mild overall wear. The stock is also good and has generally distinct carving, attractive pearl inlays, minor cracks and chips, a hole from an absent inlay ahead of the trigger guard, and mild overall wear. Lock not tested.
