Description:

This is one of the scarce "Z" prefix M1903A4 Sniper rifles manufactured by Remington Arms Company for the United States Army in World War II. These were the standard sniper rifles during World War II, into Korea and even the early days of Vietnam. The receiver ring has the properly offset "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" marking on the left with the serial number "Z4002904" on the right (the "Z" is stamped sideways in error, giving it the appearance of an "N"). The original iron sights are properly absent as standard on these sniper variants, with a Remington "9-43" dated barrel, and "R" marked bolt with properly turned and contoured handle. Smooth pistol grip scant stock, "RA" (Remington Arms) and boxed "FJA" (Frank J. Atwood) inspection stamps surrounding a crossed cannons Ordnance cartouche on the left stock wrist, double stamped circled "P" proofs and an "R" stamped behind the trigger guard, with a replaced parkerized checkered steel buttplate. The Weaver M73B1 scope is electro-stenciled serial numbered on the right with "26908", and mounted on a parkerized Redfield scope base. Includes a M1907 brown leather sling, leather scope lens covers, and oiler/cleaning kit inside the butt compartment.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 90% plus original parkerized finish and 80% blue finish with some areas of light freckling. The stock is also very fine with defined edges, a few light handling marks, and legible stampings. Mechanically excellent. Included scope is excellent, retains 90% original blue finish with scattered scratches on the tube, and crisp clear optics.
