Description:

Manufactured in 1919. The pistol has the slide serrations on the rear of the slide and a lanyard loop on the left rear of the frame. The left side of the slide is marked with Colt's two-line, two-block patent marking and address: "PATENTED/APR.20,1897. SEPT.9,1902" followed by "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO./HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". The Rampant Colt is stamped behind the slide serrations. The right side of the slide is marked: "AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" in two lines. The left side of the frame has the serial number located above the trigger guard bow. A small numeral "1" and the Colt "VP" triangle proof mark are on the left trigger guard bow. The magazine is two tone and marked "MIL./COLT/38 CAL." on the floor plate. The pistol features the high polish Colt blue finish and checkered hard rubber grips with "Colt" in a ribbon at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center. The hammer and lanyard loop are casehardened.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 85% plus of the original blue finish remaining. Wear is limited to the front of the slide and high edges. There is some scattered minor specks of oxidation visible on the slide and upper back strap and there are a few minor dings overall. The hammer retains 80% of the original vivid casehardened colors. The grips are also very fine with minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
