Description:

Originally manufactured in 1981 in Germany (likely as a HK91) and imported by HK Inc., this rifle was converted to fully automatic by Fleming Firearms, which included adding a "G3" model marking to the magazine well. Originally designed and manufactured as the CETME rifle due to post-WWII armament restrictions, the G3 was the standard service rifle of the West German Bundeswehr from virtually their beginning, being trialed in 1956 and accepted in 1959, serving through the Cold War and into the 1990s. Hooded post front and four-position drum rear sights, with a JP brand tank style muzzle brake on the threaded muzzle (installed by welding the brake to a cut down HK factory pattern flash hider), triangular forearm, textured pistol grip and fixed synthetic buttstock. The "shelf" pattern receiver has the model and caliber markings on the left side of the mag well, importer markings on the right, and the Fleming address on the right side under the trigger housing, with a clamp on rail and an Aimpoint CompM sight on top. The trigger housing is fitted with a right-handed selector switch, and bears "0/1/A" markings, with a shelf pattern trigger pack within. The bolt carrier is a Portuguese FMP full auto model dated "2/68", with a "HK 12/64" bolt head and matching number "246" on multiple components.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as upgraded, with 90% plus factory quality matte black finish, showing edge wear and minor handling marks overall. The barrel under the forearm shows some touched-up pitting and an area of white wax or residue, and the muzzle device is cracking at the weld. The furniture is very good, with light handling marks. The trigger pack is damaged, with a section broken off of the lower right hand corner which supports the sear; as-is, the weapon functions intermittently and in need of repair. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
