This commercial Luger has a "42" dated chamber, the Mauser Banner logo on the toggle, and commercial "eagle/N" proofs on the left of the receiver, left of the breech block, and on the front sight block. Fitted with a blue finished magazine with an aluminum base numbered "2" above "8159", replacement walnut grips with the left panel numbered "56" on the underside and "eagle/655" proofed, unnumbered right grip panel, and the remaining visible serial numbered components matching. "GESICHERT" marked safety area and "GELADEN" marked extractor. According to consignor notes, this Luger came with the accompanying Portuguese Navy contract Luger holster. This pattern of holster is described on page 1287 of "Pistole Parabellum Volume III" in which it is referred to as the final pattern for the Portuguese m/943 P.08 Luger pistols.

Fine, retains 70% arsenal refurbished blue finish with smooth brown patina on the balance, a few scattered small patches of light freckling/pitting, and sharp markings in the metal overall. 40% straw colors visible on small parts. The replacement grips are also fine with some minor surface chips. Mechanically excellent. Included holster is very fine.
