Scarce and Desirable Cased Winchester Model
20 .410 Single Barrel Shotgun Junior Trap
Outfit with Accessories - Serial no. 23176, 410
gauge, 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured 1919-1924. Designed by Winchester to
utilize their expanded production facilities after World
War I and marketed as a youth skeet gun. Features a single bead
sight, 2 1/2 inch chamber, and full choke. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the two line address/patent
  applied for marking followed by “MOD.20-.410,” and “FULL” is on the left side at the breech. The Winchester oval proof is marked on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. Mounted on a smooth Schnabel tip forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered Winchester hard
rubber buttplate. The skeet set includes 16 clay pigeons, a box for one hundred Winchester “Midget Size Clay Pigeons”, a wood handled Winchester “Midget Hand Trap”, a can of Winchester gun oil, tube of Winchester gun grease with box, a tube of Winchester rust remover with box, one box of 3 inch Winchester Super Speed .410 shotgun shells, one box of 2 1/2 inch Winchester Super Speed shotgun shells, two piece wooden handled cleaning rod, “Metal Preparation” pamphlet, care instructions, photo copy of Junior Trap Outfit information, and a score sheet. The stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 13 1/2 inches. The Model 20 is uncommon with only about 24,000 manufactured. A nearly complete Youth Skeet Outfit is certainly much more scarce.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% original blue finish with some jagged metal marks visible at the forearm/frame juncture. Wood is very fine with some dings and scratches. Case is fine with storage and handling marks, flaking on the handle, a missing strap for the barrel, and typical high edge wear in the lining. Four of the clays are broken, the clay pigeon box has a tear in the lid and one box of shells has torn corners, otherwise all accessories are very good to fine with some handling marks. This hard to find piece would make the perfect addition to any Winchester collection!

Outstanding Pre-World War I Winchester Model 1897 Slide
Action Riot Shotgun - Serial no. E555453, 12 gauge, 20 inch round bbl., blue
finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1912 with the early solid frame. Single brass front sight
bead. The action bar is roll-stamped “MODEL 1897/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S.PAT.
OFF.”” in three lines, and the barrel is marked “12 GA.” and “CYL” along with the Winchester address and patent information. Oval Winchester “W/P” proofmarks are stamped on the top of the barrel and the receiver. The serial
number “E/555453” is roll-stamped across the bottom of the receiver. No U.S. ordnance marks are present on the gun. Mounted with an 18-groove forend and smooth pistol grip stock fitted with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Includes a correct vintage Winchester stock advertisement behind the wrist. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches. CONDITION: Excellent plus overall, retaining 99% bright original high polish blue finish, limited handling evidence, and well-defined grooves on the forend. The factory stock band is very fine with some slight age wear and discoloration. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500 LOT 378 Winchester Model 42 Slide Action Shotgun - Serial no. 150070, 410 gauge, 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufacture date of 1958, per the Winchester Arms Collectors Association. Standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, single bead front sight, 3 inch chamber, and “FULL” marked choke. Mounted with a fourteen-groove slide handle and pistol grip stock with checkered buttplate and 13 7/8 inch length of pull. CONDITION: Very fine with 90% of the original blue finish remaining, visible plum coloration on the receiver, muzzle and edge wear, and slide retraction marks on the barrel and magazine. The refinished wood is fine with a visibly filled repair at the left side of the toe, and small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,300 - 1,900
