Excellent, Documented Factory Engraved Winchester 20 Gauge Experimental Model 50 Semi-Automatic Shotgun - Serial no. EXP33A, 20 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue/anodized finish, walnut stock. Winchester Model 50 shotguns were manufactured
 AS DESCRIBED IN THE BOOK WINCHESTER SHOTGUNS AND SHOTSHELLS BY STADT
  from 1954-1961 starting with serial number 1,000. This example is a pre-production prototype with the serial number “EXP33A”. The shotgun is identified as an experimental Model 50 by serial number in Ronald Stadt’s “Winchester Shotguns and Shotshells” on page 137. The gun has dual steel bead sights on the matted vent rib along with standard production markings, 2 3/4 inch chamber marking, and “WS-1” marked choke. The receiver is engraved with a dog and pheasant on the left and three mallards on the right. Lightly figured, checkered forend and pistol grip stock. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 9 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original combination blue/anodized finish with minor handling evidence. The wood is also excellent with a few minor scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000

Winchester Model 1897 Takedown Slide Action Riot Shotgun - Serial no. E930203, 12 gauge, 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1948. Single nickel silver front sight bead and blued front sling swivel. The left of the barrel is roll-stamped “MODEL 97-WINCHESTER- 12 GA./-TRADE MARK-” in two lines, followed by “2 3/4 CHAM./CYL.” Oval Winchester “W/P” proofmarks are stamped on the top of the barrel and the receiver. The serial
number “E/930203” is roll-stamped across the bottom of the receiver and “930203” on the bottom of the takedown adapter. No U.S. ordnance
marks are present on the gun. Mounted with an 18-groove forend and smooth pistol grip stock fitted with a blued sling swivel base (swivel absent but base attached) and checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches.
CONDITION: Excellent retaining 95% plus original blue finish with light slide retraction wear and thread mark notches under the barrel. The wood is very fine with a few dents and scratches at the toe and well-defined forend grooves. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
LOT 383 Winchester 20 Gauge Model 12 Slide Action WS-1 Skeet Shotgun - Serial no. 1392569, 20 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1951. Steel mid and red front bead sights on the matted solid rib, standard Winchester markings and proof, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and “WS-1” (skeet) choke. The blued receiver shows the “WP” proof on the top. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and stock. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 13 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 12 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine, retaining 85% plus original blue, cycling wear, light handling evidence, a few minor marks on the top of the receiver, and crisp checkering on the very fine wood. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500

Winchester Model 1897 Slide Action Riot Shotgun - Serial no. E705741, 12 gauge, 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1919 and subsequently factory refurbished. Single brass front sight bead. The action bar is roll-stamped “MODEL 1897/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S.PAT.OFF.” in three lines, and the barrel is marked “12 GA.” and “CYL” along with the Winchester address and patent information. Oval Winchester
“W/P” proofmarks are stamped on the top of the barrel and the receiver. The serial number “E/705741” is roll-stamped across the bottom of the
receiver. Mounted with an 18-groove forend and later production smooth pistol grip stock fitted with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% plus bright high polish factory refinished blue finish, some light slide retraction wear, and well-defined grooves on the forend. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
 Early Production Three Digit Serial Number “322” Winchester Model 40 Semi-Automatic Shotgun -
Serial no. 322, 12 gauge, 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured from 1940 to 1941 with approximately 12,000 guns sold. The Winchester Model 40 was the company’s second attempt to break into the auto loading shotgun market. Standard markings and features including the 2 3/4 inch chamber marking and the “MOD” choke marking. Smooth, non-checkered walnut pistol grip stock. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs 5 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% plus original blue, scattered light scratches, and light handling evidence. The wood is has a crack on either side of the wrist; otherwise, it is very fine with scattered scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
