Action manufactured in 1883 and subsequently proofed then reproofed between 1954 and 1989 at Birmingham. Blued steel replacement barrels utilizing the original Parker breech and lugs with single steel bead on the smooth, concave solid rib,
chambers proved at 2 7/8 inches with single extractor, and choke constriction measured at .042/.041 inches. The barrels bear

Early Documented Parker Brothers 10 Gauge “Dollar Grade” Underlifter Action Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun - Serial no. 4957, 10 gauge, 32 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1875 as what appears to be a “105 Dollar” grade gun from the 1874 Parker Catalog. According to page 242 of “The Parker Story” By Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, only some 106 guns where built in this period with 32 inch Damascus barrels in 10 gauge across all grades. Single bead sight on the smooth, concave solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS MERIDEN CONN DAMASCUS STEEL”, chambers measured at 2 5/8 inches with single
extractor, and choke constrictions measured at .012/.026 inches. The casehardened underlifter action bears light scroll
  standard Birmingham proofs and are marked “SLEEVED” next to a script “W.R.” on the flats. The casehardened top action features standard C Grade engraving with dog scenes on the left, right, and underside along with sculpted fence, rebounding hammers, and double triggers. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Deeley release and engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield and skeleton buttplate. Stock measurements: 2 inch drop at comb; 3 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 10 lbs 2 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refinished, retaining 98% blue on the barrels, 30% case colors, blued hammers, and overall light handling evidence. The sanded stock is ill-fitting, otherwise very good with light marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500
engraving and features rebounding hammers and double triggers. Nicely figured, multi-point walnut forend with wedge fastener and round knob pistol grip stock with added hard rubber buttplate. The barrel length, barrel steel, and gauge are confirmed on page 76 of “Parker Gun Identification and Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Stock measurements: 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 9 lbs 3 oz.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 40% original case colors on the action and a mix of brown and grey patina on the barrels with a small spots of cleaned oxidation. The stock is cracked through at the butt and revarnished with some excess glue or varnish on the underside, the pistol grip has been added by inletting it into the stock, otherwise the stock is good with crisp recut checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500

Antique Documented Parker Brothers 10 Gauge Grade 3 Top Action Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun - Serial no. 39906, 10 gauge, 32 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1884 as one of only 385 guns built in this configuration according to page 290 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote. Damascus steel barrels with single bead sight on the smooth concave
solid rib marked “PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL.”, 2 7/8 inch chambers
with single extractor, and choke constrictions measured at .035/.033 inches. The casehardened sidelock action bears the standard Grade 3 engraving
consisting of a dog flushing birds on either side of the receiver, a trio of partridge on the underside, and scrollwork surrounding the scenes. The action features sculpted fence, double triggers, and rebounding hammers. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release
and pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield and skeleton buttplate over checkered bare butt. The above configuration is confirmed on page 174 of “Parker Gun
Identification and Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Stock measurements: 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 2 7/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 9 lbs 1 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, showing Damascus pattern on the barrels with an attractive brown patina, 30% plus original case colors, some areas of cleaned oxidation, and mild overall handling evidence. The wood is very good with numerous dings and scratches and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Manufactured in 1886. Damascus steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the smooth, concave solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL”, chambers measured 2 9/16 inches with single extractor, and choke constrictions measure .033/.033 inches. The casehardened top action displays standard Grade 2 engraving and features double triggers and rebounding hammers. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield. The above configuration is confirmed on page 201 of “Parker Gun Identification and Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Stock measurements: 1 13/16 inch drop at comb; 2 7/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 3 oz. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 40% original case colors and a mix of brown and grey patina on the barrels with a few spots of minor oxidation and strong patterning. The reoiled wood is very good with some dings and scratches, small imperfections along the inlets, and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500
