Colt First Series Woodsman Semi-
Automatic Pistol with Half Moon
Front Sight - Serial no. 87128, 22 LR
cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
in 1933 this Colt Woodsman features the rare half moon front sight that, according to renowned Colt Woodsman collector Major Robert J. Rayburn, was only made for a few months that same year with only two or three hundred total produced, and few are known to survive today. Windage adjustable rear sight with wide notch to
accommodate the wider half moon front sight. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Colt address above the patent information. It has standard marking on the slide and frame. Nicely figured fully checkered walnut grip panels. There is a similar pistol pictured and described on page 23 of E. A. Brink’s “Colt Rimfire Automatic Pistols: A Collectors Guide”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% plus original blue finish, some areas of thinning, light handling evidence, and sharp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Woodsman Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Case - Serial
no. 113573, 22 LR cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1937 and subsequently custom embellished. This Colt Woodsman features standard marks and features as well as nearly 50% coverage floral scroll engraving executed by Master Engraver George Sherwood. Beneath the left grip is Sherwood’s “SHERWOOD ENGRAVED” signature. Includes custom made case containing cleaning equipment and an empty box of Remington Hi-Speed Kleanbore
.22 Long Rifle ammunition.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as custom embellished. 99%
plus professionally refinished blue finish remains with limited
handling marks and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically
excellent. Case is fine with limited
storage and handling marks.

Excellent Documented Colt New Service Double Action
Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial no. 58367, 45 Long
Colt cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips.
The included factory letter lists this revolver as having a 7 1/2
inch barrel in 45 caliber, with a blue finish and stocks not listed when shipped to John Pritzlaff Hardware Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 22, 1913. It features blade front and frame notch rear sights, flat cylinder release, checkered hard rubber grips with “COLT” at the top, and lanyard loop on the butt.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% plus original bright high polish blue finish with scattered handling marks, light muzzle wear, a cylinder drag line, and some spotting on the cylinder. Grips are fine with a small chip visible in both lower panels and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Buckstix Collection.

Exceptionally Fine Colt Model 1903 New
Army and New Navy Double Action Revolver
- Serial no. 258519, 38 Long Colt cal., 6 inch round
bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in
1906 with the standard two-line address and patent dates
on top of the barrel, “COLT. D.A. 38” on the left of the barrel,
circled Rampant Colt on the left rear of the frame, serial
number on the butt, and matching assembly number “362”
on the frame, crane, and cylinder latch. Fitted with blade and frame
groove sights, nitre blue trigger, hammer, and screws, and diamond pattern checkered
grips, each numbered “372” on the inside. Includes a generic leatherette soft case.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 75% plus of the bright original high polish blue
finish and 75% plus of the original nitre blue with the balance having thinned to mostly
a smooth grey patina, primarily on the barrel and grip straps. The grips are very fine with a few scattered light blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Colt Woodsman First Series Match
Target Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. MT3625, 22 LR
cal., 6 5/8 inch bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This gun was
manufactured in 1939, with only 16,000 manufactured from
1938-1944. Features a Patridge front and adjustable rear target sight. The top
of the barrel is marked with standard two line address and patent date. The
left side of the barrel is marked with a bulls eye image with the word “MATCH”
above it and “TARGET” below it. “THE WOODSMAN” is marked on the left side of
the frame. On the left side of the slide, it is marked with “COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22
LONG RIFLE” along with the Rampant Colt. Pivoting thumb safety and checkered
one-piece walnut “Elephant Ear” grips with Colt medallions. Serrated target trigger.
The two-tone magazine is marked with 2-line legend reading
“COLT WOODSMAN / CAL 22 L.R.”
CONDITION: Excellent, 90% plus original finish remaining, thinning on the back strap, muzzle and some high edge wear with scattered light scuffs and scratches. The grips are very fine with high spot wear on top of both grip panels. Mechanically excellent.

Colt Prototype Woodsman Semi-Automatic Pistol
Serial Number 17X - Serial no. 17X, 22 LR cal., 4 1/2 inch
round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. The pistol has standard
markings and features except for the serial number on the right side of the frame. Adjustable front and rear sights. Serrated front and back straps. Fitted with checkered plastic grips with
Rampant Colt on the right grip panel.
CONDITION: Excellent. 97% plus of the original
blue finish remains with scattered scratches and
grip strap wear. The barrel has some minor wear at
the muzzle. The grips are very fine with scattered
scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.

   Collector’s Fact
According to noted Colt Woodsman collector Major Robert Rayburn, the half moon
 front sight was produced only in 1933, with only fewer than only approximately 300 produced.
