Antique Parker Brothers Grade 2 Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun - Serial no. 73975, 12 gauge, 28 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1892. Damascus steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL”, chambers measured 2 9/16 inches with single extractor, and choke constrictions measure .006/.028 inches. The casehardened
top action displays standard Grade 2 engraving with
“PARKER BROS.” on either side and features double triggers and rebounding hammers. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with inscription shield at the wrist with what appears to be a Gothic “R”. Stock measurements: 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 3 1/8 inch drop at heel; 13 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 13 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 70% original case colors and beautiful vivid Damascus patterning on the barrels with an attractive brown patina, a few areas of minor wear, and a pinned
repair on the breech end of the top rib. The wood has been reoiled, otherwise it is very fine with a few light marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Damascus steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL”, chambers measured 2 9/16 inches with single extractor, and choke constrictions measure .040/.040 inches. The casehardened top action displays standard Grade 2 engraving and features double triggers and rebounding hammers. 15/16 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 3 oz. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 40% case colors with the balance a silver patina and an attractive brown patina on the barrels with a few areas showing light oxidation and overall mild handling evidence. The reoiled wood is very good with numerous dings and scratches and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 3,500
LOT 388 Remington 10 Gauge Model 1889 Grade 1 Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun - Serial no. 66045, 10 gauge, 32 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with single steel bead front sight on the matted solid rib which is marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y. U.S.A.”, 2 7/8 inch chambers with single extractor, and chokes measured at full/full. The receiver, locks, and hammers are casehardened. The locks are both marked
“REMINGTON ARMS CO.” in block letters. Double triggers and rebounding hammers. Multi-point checkered, walnut forend with Deeley style latch and round
knob pistol grip stock with hard rubber Remington buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 3 inch drop at heel; 14 3/8 inch length of pull; weight 9 lbs 11 oz. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refinished, retaining 98% blue finish and 90% plus casehardening with some light handling evidence, and a few subsurface blemishes on the barrels. The wood
is very good with some scattered scratches, a few pressure marks, minor varnish flaking, a chip behind the right hammer, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,000 - 1,600

Manufactured in 1886. Twist steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. TWIST”, 2 7/8 inch chambers with single extractor, and choke constriction measured .036/.031 inches. The casehardened top action features “PARKER BROS.” on either side as well as double triggers and rebounding hammers. Lightly figured splinter forend with Deeley latch and pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield in the wrist. The above configuration is confirmed on page 199 of “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Stock measurements: 2 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs 15 oz. CONDITION: Very good, retaining 40% case colors and showing a mix of brown and grey patina on the barrels with some spots of cleaned oxidation. The revarnished wood is also very good with some dings and scratches and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,500 - 2,500

Twist steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the matted concave solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. TWIST”, 2 9/16 inch chambers with single extractor, and choke constriction measured .033/.034 inches. The casehardened top action features “PARKER BROS.” on either side as well as double triggers and rebounding hammers. Lightly figured splinter forend with Deeley latch and pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield in the wrist. The above configuration is confirmed on page 240 of “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Stock measurements: 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 9 oz. CONDITION: Very good, retaining 50% case colors on the action, a mix of brown and grey patina on the barrels with some areas of spotting and light pitting, and overall mild handling evidence. The revarnished wood is also very good with a few dings and scratches, a small crack coming off of the bottom tang, and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000
