Exceptional Factory Engraved Colt Model 1883 Hammerless Side by Side Shotgun - Serial no. 6822, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, highly figured checkered walnut stock. Manufactured in 1893. Blue, Damascus steel barrels with matted, concave rib marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A”, chambers measured at 2 3/4 inches with single extractor, and chokes measured at improved cylinder/modified. The casehardened
boxlock action displays standard Grade 2 engraving consisting of a setter flushing two birds on the left, a pointer flushing a bird on the right, scroll surrounding the scenes, and a solitary mallard on the trigger guard. The patent markings are also marked on the underside reading “PATENTED/AUG.22. SEP.19.1882”. Double triggers and tang mounted automatic safety switch. Nicely figured,
     multi-point checkered splinter forend with ebony insert, engraved fitting, and a Deeley style release lever and pistol grip stock with blank initial oval, hard rubber grip cap, and hard
rubber Rampant colt buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter 9 inches from the breech both measured .727 inches; choke constriction .011/.020 inches; minimum wall thickness .022/.023 inches; 1 3/4 inch drop at comb; 3 1/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 5 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, showing 95% beautiful, vivid Damascus pattern on the barrels, 75% original case colors on the action, and overall light handling evidence. The wood is also very fine with scattered dings and scratches freshened sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000
 First Year Production Colt Lightning Medium Frame Slide Action Carbine - Serial no. 2156, 44-40 WCF cal., 20 inch round bbl., nickel finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1884 this carbine was one of only 3074 rifles and carbines to come off the line during the first year of production. This carbine features special order full nickel plated finish, elevation adjustable rear sight, early open top frame design, and the early patent marking (1883 patent dates only). The trigger guard bow slide release is absent. CONDITION: Very good retaining 80% period replated nickel finish, some areas of pitting on the exposed metal, and some flaking along the edges. The wood is very good with scattered pressure dents, scratching, and small crack on the left of the forend. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
non-factory replacement top cover, and extensive patches of pitting visible on magazine tube which has been touched up with cold blue. Non-factory added filler screws visible on both sides of upper center frame. The wood is very good with some dings and scratches and crisp checkering on the forend. Mechanically excellent. Attractive Colt Model 1878 Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun - Serial no. 19574, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1882. Damascus steel barrels with single bead sight on the smooth, concave solid rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers with single extractor, and choke constrictions measured at .023/.024 inches (modified/ modified). The casehardened sidelock action features the “Colt’s Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co.” marking on
either lock, nitre blue bolts on the locks and tang, checkered barrel release lever, double triggers, and rebounding hammers. Lightly
figured, multi-point checkered splinter forearm with ebony tip insert and Deeley style release latch and a round knob pistol grip stock with smooth steel buttplate. Stock measurements: 2 inch drop at comb; 3 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 12 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, showing 85% of an attractive vivid Damascus pattern on the barrels, 50% original muted case colors remaining on the action, bright nitre blue on the protected bolts, some areas showing light spotting, and overall light handling evidence. The wood is also very fine and shows a few light marks and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250

Colt Lightning Medium Frame Slide Action Rifle in .32-20 W.C.F. -
Serial no. 42785, 32 WCF cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1890. Folding Beach combination front sight with sporting rear sight as well as a tang mounted folding rear peep sight. Standard later two-line Colt address and caliber marking on the barrel with rampant colt on the left side of the receiver. These rifles were a well liked alternative to the Winchester offerings of the day, however, even with some 186,000 having been produced, Colt decided to drop the line 1904 and return solely to handgun manufacturing. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 75% original blue on the barrel, magazine, trigger guard, and frame, mottled brown coloration to the refinished
