Very Fine Engraved Holland & Holland .375 (H&H Flanged Magnum) “Royal” Double Barrel Sidelock Ejector Rifle with Case - Serial no. 28486, 375 cal., 26 1/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. This classic British double rifle features blued chopperlump barrels respectively signed “HOLLAND & HOLLAND” and “98, NEW BOND STREET, LONDON.” Each breech end is engraved with a band of stylized running foliage. The sunken concave rib has a matted ramp mounted bead front sight with cut out for
a flip-up moon-sight and a file cut matted quarter rib with dovetailed rear sight of one standing notch sight and one folding notch leaf sight graduated to 350 yards. The bottom of the rib is import marked under the forearm. The casehardened treble grip bolstered and side-clipped action has removable firing pin bushings and is signed “HOLLAND & HOLLAND” in gold on each
side, engraved “ROYAL/HAMMERLESS/EJECTOR” on the underside and has
a blued toplever, an automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”, a long upper strap, and a sprung front trigger. The back action sidelocks are each with gold inlaid cocking indicator. The furniture comprises a blued rolled edge trigger guard, casehardened pistol grip cap with hinged trap cover, and casehardened forearm iron. The whole is finely engraved with Holland & Holland scrollwork. The underside of the barrels and water table are struck with London nitro reproof marks for 2006.
