Factory Engraved W & C Scott Chatsworth Boxlock Double Barrel 28 Gauge Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 146594, 28 gauge, 25 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured and proofed at the Birmingham proof house in 1982. Blued steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib, “W. & C. SCOTT. GUNMAKERS.”
   and “BIRMINGHAM. ENGLAND.”
on the right and left barrels respectively, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The
barrel is also import marked. The scalloped boxlock receiver shows fine scrollwork with “W. & C. SCOTT” on either side and “THE/CHATSWORTH” on the underside. The action also features double triggers and tang mounted manual safety switch. Beautifully
figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Anson button release and engraved fittings and straight grip stock with tear drop carved flats, blank inscription shield, and checkered bare butt. Includes a canvas bound takedown case with W & C trade label, cleaning tools, two nickel snap caps, and a nickel oiler. Barrel and measurements (R/L): bore diameter 9 inches from the breech proved at .550/.550 inches and measured at .551/.551 inches; choke constriction .010/.024 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/4 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 5 lbs 5 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes, limited handling evidence, a few tiny marks in the wood, and sharp checkering on the wood. The case and accessories are also excellent with minor storage/use evidence. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500
Factory Engraved Granetti Signed Piotti 20 Gauge Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 9119, 20 gauge, 27 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1993. Blued steel barrels with single brass bead front sight on the matted,
concave solid rib, single band
of engraving around either breech, chambers marked 76 mm (3 inches) with
automatic ejectors, “FLLI PIOTTI ITALY” marked on the left barrel, and import mark under the forend. Casehardened action and sidelocks with full coverage, beautifully executed, classic English rose and scroll engraving. The beaded trigger guard,
barrel release lever, and tangs show the same engraving. The right side of the trigger plate is signed “GRANETTI” for Oscar Granetti. Nitre blue and nickel pins in the sidelocks and some light decorative carving around the fences. Double triggers and tang mounted manual safety switch. Highly figured, multi-point checkered walnut splinter forend with Anson button release and engraved fittings and the straight grip stock with checkered bare butt. Includes a leather bound takedown case with factory trade label, two nickel snap caps, and cleaning tools. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter 9 inches from the breech proved at 15.8 mm (.622 inches) and measured at .622/.623 inches; choke constriction .007/.015 inches; minimum wall thickness .039/.035 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch drop at heel; 14 11/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs 4 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes, minor handling evidence, and some light wear at the muzzle. The wood shows a few minor scattered pressure marks, a couple tiny dings on the high edges, and sharp checkering. The case and accessories are also excellent. Mechanically excellent.
