Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel Model 40 E.DA Boxlock Double Barrel
Shotgun with Box - Serial no. 386533, 12 gauge, 29 7/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Single brass bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib, standard barrel markings, chambers proved at 76 mm (3 inches) with automatic ejectors, and chokes marked “SK”
and “VBZ”. The coin finished sideclipped boxlock action features a pair of hares on the right and a pair of game birds on the left along with a cript “B.L.”, all surrounded by floral scrollwork. The gun features double triggers, bushed firing pins, and an manual tang mounted safety switch.
Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release as well as a pistol grip stock with Merkel buttplate. Includes original factory box. Stock measurements: 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 13 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes, limited handling evidence, and some faint discoloration in areas on the action. The wood is very fine with scattered light dings and scratches and sharp checkering. The box is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,000

Factory Engraved Koch Signed and Engraved Gebruder Merkel 20 Gauge
Model 147EL Double Barrel Shotgun with Box - Serial no. 384654, 20 gauge, 26 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut
stock. Manufactured in 2002. Blued Krupp-Stahl barrels with single brass bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib which is marked “147EL 20 Ga”, standard markings, 3 inch chambers with ejectors, and choke constrictions of .008/.018 inches. The scalloped, sideclipped boxlock action features a pair of hares on the left and a trio of water fowl on the right all surrounded by floral scroll engraving, double triggers, bushed
firing pins, and an automatic tang mounted safety. The toplever is silver inlaid with “EL”. The action is signed on the left side with a stylized “MK” for Merkel engraver Matthias Koch. Highly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release and straight grip stock with Merkel buttplate. Includes the original factory box with end labels listing many of the features and shipping box. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 2 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes, minor handling evidence, a few small marks on the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The box is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000

standard Merkel markings, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and choke constrictions of .003/.006 inches. The scalloped, bright finished, sideclipped boxlock action features a pair of pheasants in a field on the left a trio of grouse on the right all surrounded by floral scrollwork. The action is signed “RD” at the left rear. Double triggers, bushed firing pins, and automatic tang mounted safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered walnut splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release and straight grip stock with serrated Merkel buttplate. Includes original box. Stock measurements: 1
1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 1 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and bright coin finishes, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the forend and stock. Box is very good. Mechanically excellent.
