Unknown Copy of a Colt Texas Paterson
Percussion Revolver - NSN, 36 cal., 7 1/2 inch
octagon bbl., antiqued finish, walnut grips. The only markings are “COLT” and the stagecoach roll
scene on the cylinder. The barrel has a brass post front sight.
CONDITION: Good. The revolver has a very convincing “antiqued” appearance overall with primarily gray patina mixed
with mild pitting and some areas of light brown patina. The grip has mild handling and edge wear. Mechanically fine. This is a convincing looking stand-in for the incredibly hard to find and valuable Colt Texas Paterson.

Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver - Serial no. 49501, 32 cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue/
casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1852. The top barrel flat is marked “ADDRESS COL. SAML
COLT/NEW-YORK CITY”, and the left side of the frame is marked “COLTS/PATENT”. The cylinder has the stagecoach hold up
scene and “COLTS PATENT/NO. 49501”. The complete matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back
strap while the partial number is also on the wedge, loading lever, and cylinder pin. Fitted with a smooth one piece walnut grip with glossy
varnish.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 95% original silver finish on the grip straps. The frame retains 60% of the original case colors. The cylinder has a
smooth grey and brown patina with traces of the original blue finish in the protected places at the rear. The barrel retains 60% of the original blue finish with a mottled grey and brown patina on the remainder. The grip is also very good with some edge wear at the bottom and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.

    blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1890 as a third model with integral dust cover rail and dust cover with rear serrations. The accompanying factory letter confirms the octagon barrel in .44 caliber, plain trigger, special order half magazine, and casehardened receiver. The rifle was received in the warehouse on November 20, 1890 and shipped the next day. Blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight on a barrel stamped with the two-line address/patent dates legend ahead of the rear sight and “44 WCF” at the breech. “44 CAL” is marked on the cartridge elevator,
“MODEL 1873” is marked on the upper tang, and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. The straight grip stock is
fitted with a trapdoor buttplate (cleaning rod not included).
CONDITION: Very good plus, retaining 40% original blue finish and 25% of the original case colors visible in and around
the sheltered areas on the frame with a smooth brown patina on the balance. 25% of the original niter blue remains on the
loading gate. The wood is fine with a hairline crack visible at the stock toe and minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
