Winchester 16 Gauge Model 21 Tournament Skeet Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 10788, 16 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, Highly figured checkered walnut straight grip stock. Blued, Winchester proof steel barrels featuring a matted solid rib with dual bead sights, 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors, and chokes marked “WS-1”/WS-2”. Blued receiver featuring a non-automatic tang safety and single selective trigger. The receiver is marked “TOURNAMENT/SKEET” on the underside with the first two letters either lightly struck or buffed prior to bluing. Winchester “WP” proofs on the barrels and receiver. Nicely figured checkered walnut beavertail forend with rotary latch release and straight grip stock with checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bores 9 inches from the breech measure .671/.670 inches; choke constriction .004(jug)/.009 inches; minimum wall thickness .030/.030
inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 1 15/16 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 13 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% original blue finish, most of the loss concentrated on the underside of the action and trigger guard, light handling evidence, and crisp checkering on the refinished stock and forend. Shotgun - Serial no. 806841, 28 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue/gold finish, highly figured carved walnut stock. Manufactured in 1938 and later upgraded to its current gauge/ configuration, masterfully
custom embellished. Dual white barrel markings, choke marked
displays near full coverage floral scroll engraving surrounding two gold inlaid raised relief game scenes and gold inlaid “SKEET” on the underside. The left displays five mallards in flight over a field scene, and the right shows four mallards in a marsh scene. Beautifully figured, fancy checkered forend and pistol grip stock with gold inscription oval in grip cap and Decelerator recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 13 15/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally custom embellished, retaining 97% blue and gold finishes with slide retraction marks and minor handling evidence. The wood is very fine with a few minor scratches and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000
LOT 457 Excellent Winchester Model 42 Slide Action Shotgun with Box - Serial no. 160740, 410 gauge, 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1961. The shotgun features a single nickel bead sight, 3 inch chamber, full choke, and standard markings. Mounted on a flat bottom 14 groove forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered Winchester buttplate. Includes original box. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches, cast on. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% bright original blue finish with limited handling/disassembly marks and light slide retraction marks. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with storage and handling marks with some loss of the end label. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250 LOT 458 Iconic, Rare and Early Production Winchester Model 42 Slide Action Shotgun - Serial no. 4680, 410 gauge, 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1933. With single steel bead sight, 3 inch chamber, standard barrel markings, absent Winchester proofs, and “FULL” marked (measures at improved modified) choke. Fancy checkered forearm and straight grip stock with white bone triangle inserts in the stock wrist and checkered Winchester buttplate. Length of pull is 12 3/4 inches. CONDITION: Very fine. 60% original blue remains with areas of mottled gray patina, scratches edge wear, and oxidation and pitting visible at the muzzle. The wood is fair with numerous dings and dents, and 1/2 inch hairline crack visible at the upper receiver tang. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
