Paul Jaeger Engraved and Gold Inlaid Weatherby Mark V Bolt Action Rifle with Scope - Serial no. 34057, 270 Magnum cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue/gold finish, walnut stock. The action displays near full coverage floral scroll engraving with gold inlaid borders extending onto the barrel in an 7 1/2 inch wedge, barrel marked “Paul Jaeger Inc./Jenkintown, PA.”. The receiver also features a mule deer buck and doe on the left and a pair of bears on the right. The floorplate shows a relief engraved stag surrounded by floral scroll and gold borders and another gold stag bust on the trigger guard. Pistol grip stock with fancy checkering, inlaid gold diamond marked “R/F/C”, and ebony inlays. Includes a Redfield 2-7x scope with engraved rings and mount. CONDITION: Excellent as custom embellished, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes, limited handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock. The scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent. The action displays near full coverage floral scroll engraving extending onto the barrel in an 8 1/2 inch wedge. The bottom metal is gold plated with a relief engraved deer surrounded by floral scroll. Pistol grip stock with floral carving, rosewood forend tip, and ebony inlays. Includes a Weatherby Variable 2-7x scope. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 99% original blue and 90% plus original gold finishes with mild handling evidence. The wood is very good with some wear to the stain, a few light marks, and sharp carving. Scope optics are clear. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 7,000
