Colt First Generation
Single Action Army Revolver - Serial no. 346319, 38 WCF
cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard
rubber grips. Manufactured in 1923 with standard markings
and features, matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and
back strap; and loading gate numbered “4181”. The grips are correctly
numbered “346319” on the inside of each panel.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 60% plus of the original blue and casehardened
finishes with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina, extensive light scattered pitting visible on the grip straps and right of the frame, and a streak of holster type wear on the left of the barrel. The grips are very fine with a few scattered minor dings and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically functions but is missing half cock notch in the hammer.

Colt London Model 1878 Double Action
Revolver in Desirable .476 Eley with Factory
Letter - Serial no. 16628, 476 Eley cal., blue finish,
hard rubber grips. Also known as the Enfield Mark
III Ball cartridge, the .476 was introduced in 1881 and
phased out in 1887 but continued to be produced at the
Woolrich Arsenal until March 1893 and the Dum Dum
ammunition factory in India until 1918. The first .476
Model 1878 revolver was shipped to the London Agency
on June 26, 1884, according to the late Don Wilkerson in
“Colt’s Double-Action Revolver, Model of 1878”, and the
last was shipped on October 24, 1898. Wilkerson found
only 2,458 revolvers were shipped in this caliber. The
barrel has the one-line Colt Pall Mall London legend, the
trigger guard is marked “476 CAL.,” and London proofs are
on the underside of the barrel and behind each cylinder
flute. The included factory letter confirms the current
configuration as well as shipment to Colt’s London Agency on 8 February 1886 as part of a 100
gun shipment.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 50% of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth brown patina mixed with some grey and some scattered minor dings throughout. The right forward lower frame shows a patch of cold blue touch up over some abrasive marks. The grips are very good, the original left panel showing mild wear and the replacement right panel with detached threaded screw grommet. Mechanically excellent.

Documented Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolver - Serial no. 37181, 38 WCF cal., 4 3/4
inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Colt manufactured 51,210 Model 1878’s from 1878 to 1905. This revolver was manufactured in 1897 with a fixed blade front sight, “V” notch rear sight, and small two line address
on top of the barrel. “38 W.C.F.” on the left side, circled Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame in front of the grip, serial number stamped on the butt just ahead of the lanyard ring, partial serial number “181” stamped on the rear face of the cylinder and the loading gate is marked “43”. Black checkered grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the tops. The butt of this particular revolver is pictured in Wilkerson’s book, “Colt’s Double- Action Revolver, Model of 1878” on page 165 showing examples of how the serial numbers are marked on
the butts.
CONDITION: Fine. The revolver retains 70%
plus thinning original finish on the frame
and barrel with some high edge wear. The
grip straps have a smooth gray patina.
Most of the fire blue finish remains on the
trigger and hammer. The cylinder has been
touched up in one of the chambers with
pitting visible under the dull blue. The grips have faded to brown and
remain very good with a few minor nicks and crisp checkering. Markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically fine.

Very Fine Colt
First Generation
Single Action
Army Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial no. 278303,
41 Long Colt cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, hard rubber grips. The included factory letter states
this revolver was shipped on June 2, 1906 to Norvell Shapleigh
Hardware Co. of St. Louis, MO as part of a 20 gun shipment with a 4
3/4 inch barrel in .41 caliber and blue finish. In standard Colt fashion
the grips are “Not Listed.” Both grip panels have been renumbered to
the gun. Matching full serial numbers are on the frame, trigger guard and back strap.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% plus bright original high polish blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance. 75% original case colors remain on the hammer and frame. The replacement grips are also very fine with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

U.S. Colt Model 1902
Philippine Constabulary Double Action Revolver - Serial
no. 47225, 45 LC cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber
grips. Manufactured in 1901. In 1902 the Ordnance Department
purchased 4,600 Colt Model 1878/1902 revolvers in the serial number
range of 43,401 to 48,097, including this example. The revolver has the
distinctive oversized trigger and trigger guard that are characteristic of
the Model 1902 revolvers. The top of the barrel is marked with the one
line address, “45 COLT” on the left side, and the circled Rampant Colt on
the lower left rear of the frame. The upper left front of the trigger guard and
the left rear of the frame is marked with the inspectors initials “R.A.C.” The right of the frame is marked “1902”, “J.T.T.”, and “U.S.” The complete serial number “47/225” is marked on the toe of the butt and the partial serial number “7225” is marked on the loading gate. There is a “P” marked on the bottom of the barrel directly ahead of the frame. Fitted with blade and frame groove
sights, replacement checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the
top, and lanyard loop on the butt.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 50% plus of the original blue finish and 60% of the original nitre
blue with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina with a few scattered patches of light pitting. The modern replacement grips are very good with a few scattered
light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
