Early Production J.M. Marlin XXX Standard 1872 Spur Trigger Revolver with Case - Serial no. 2211, 30 RF cal., 3 1/8 inch solid rib bbl., silver finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured c. 1872-1873 with the early ribbed octagon barrel marked “XXX STANDARD 1872” on
the top and “J.M. MARLIN/NEW HAVEN CT.” on the left, non-fluted cylinder, and fitted with smooth rosewood grips. Includes a hardwood case.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 70% of the original silver finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey or antique brass patina. The dark grips are
very fine with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The relined case is good with some crazing in the lid and otherwise minimal handling/storage wear.

Engraved J.M. Marlin XXX Standard 1872 Revolver - Serial no. 8754, 30 RF cal.,
3 1/8 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured c. 1873-1876 and engraved with high coverage scroll engraving with punched backgrounds and line accents, “XXX STANDARD 1872” on the top of the round, ribbed barrel, “J.M. MARLIN/NEW HAVEN CT USA PAT. JULY 1 1876” on the left side of the barrel, and smooth rosewood grips.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 70% plus of the original nickel finish with the balance a smooth grey
or attractive antique brass patina and crisp engraving. The grips are very good with some mild crazing and scattered handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Engraved Marlin XX Standard 1873 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 9050, 22 RF cal., 3 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, antique ivory grips. Approximately 9,000 manufactured in 1875-
1887. Standard markings, 75% coverage mostly floral scroll engraving, round ribbed barrel, fluted cylinder, and matching serial numbers.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 90% plus of the original nickel finish with a few scattered patches of light flaking and crisp engraving. The slightly warped grips are very good with some hairline age cracks and light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 3185
Marlin O.K. Model Derringer with Scarce Wexler & DeGress Grips - Serial no. 2964, 30 RF cal., 3 1/8 inch part round bbl., blue/silver finish, brass grips. Manufactured from 1863 to 1870, approximately 6,000 total were made, with very few being fitted with Wexler & DeGress grips like this example. The top barrel flat is marked “O.K” and the serial number is on the left of the grip frame and bottom of the barrel. The grips feature the patent marking and leafy vine motifs on the left and the bust of a man in a Corinthian helmet on the right surrounded by leafy vines.
CONDITION: Very good, retains traces of the original blue on the barrel, the balance a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. 25% of the original silver remains on the frame with the balance an antique brass. The grips show an attractive antique copper/brass.
Mechanically excellent.

Marlin Never Miss Deringer with Rare Pearl Grips in .41 Caliber - Serial no. 4260, 41 RF cal.,
2 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, pearl grips. Manufactured from 1870 to 1881. The barrel is chambered for the rare .41 caliber. It is estimated that under 1000 .41 caliber deringers of this type were produced. Silver blade front sight on a barrel marked “NEVER MIS” on the top and “J.M. MARLIN/ NEW HAVEN, CT./PAT. APRIL. 5. 1870” on the right side. Blue barrel with silver plated brass. Spur trigger, checkered hammer and fitted with the attractive rarely seen pearl bird head grips.
CONDITION: Very good. The barrel has a smooth brown patina with a gray patina on the high edges. There is some pin point pitting. The frame retains 97% of the silver plating with some minor loss of plating around the hammer and fine surface scratches overall. The attractive grips are excellent with some yellow age discoloration and a few light chips on the edges. The right grip has a small ding and a couple of light scratches. The markings are partially worn smooth. Mechanically fine.
