This is an excellent example of a early post WWI Weimar era, Luger cutaway pistol. These Lugers were intended a training tools for armorers and factory workers. This scarce example has been cutaway on both sides as well as the top of the toggle chain and chamber area that shows functioning of all the various parts. It is completely unmarked to include the toggle chain, although it is unmarked or undated as to the manufacturer, it has been stamped with the small "Eagle/6" proof marks on the safety, backside of the side plate and firing pin which may indicate that it was manufactured/cutaway by the Simson and Co., in Suhl Germany, as they used this proof mark and also had some of the early post war luger repair and overhaul contracts for the Weimar Government. It is only serial numbered "32" on the recoil lug with no other serial numbers on any of the various parts. It has the standard safety and extractor markings and is complete with one WWI era tin plated magazine with a wooden base that is stamped "GERMANY".

Excellent with 97% plus of its original blue finish with 80% of it fading straw colors. The grips have been cutaway in the center of each panel however the remaining grip is in excellent condition showing wear across the checkering. An excellent looking and very rare Simson factory cutaway Luger pistol.
