This revolver was manufactured by Hopkins & Allen and is reminiscent of the Smith & Wesson .32 Top Break models except that it does not have a removable side plate on the left, employs a different action mechanism and has a folding spur on the hammer. This example displays the classic engraving style often seen on revolvers produced by Hopkins & Allen and sold under both their name and Merwin, Hulbert & Co. This example has floral and punch dot patterns throughout and a perched eagle with spread wings on the left side of the frame. It has a pinned round blade front sight, integral latch notch rear sight, a pair of smooth mother of pearl grips, and a lanyard ring. The matching serial number is on the rear of the cylinder and left side of the grip frame.

Very fine. The revolver retains 85% plus of the unpolished original nickel plating with gray patina on the balance interspersed with some bright oxidation and slight pitting. The grips are fine with some small chips at the edges and slight cracking. The action is fine and the markings and engraving patterns are primarily crisp.
