Early Three Digit Serial Number “393”
Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914 Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 393, 11.25 mm cal.,
5 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. The
Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914 was a modified copy of the U.S.
Model 1911 pistol used by the Norwegian army. These pistols are nearly identical to the Colt Model 1911. This Model 1914 is a pattern gun featuring
a slide dated “1918” on the right side. The left side of the slide is marked
with the early model 1914 caliber, model, and serial number marking with the monogram of King Haakon and the Kongsberg Crest. Inspection mark under the date. Matching serial numbers found on frame, slide, trigger, safety, mainspring housing, grip safety, hammer, ejector, firing pin stop, magazine catch, barrel bushing, and slide release. Barrel linkage marked “SP” on the left and “J3S” on the right.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 40% partially refinished blue finish with thinning to brown on the balance. The replacement grips are very good with a few minor dings. Mechanically excellent.

Kongsberg Model 1914 Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. 32335, 11.25 mm cal., 5
inch round bbl., phosphate finish, hardwood
grips. The Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914
was a slightly modified copy of the U.S. Model
1911 pistol used by the Norwegian army.
These pistols are nearly identical to the Colt
Model 1911. This Model 1914 features a slide
dated “1945” on the right side. The left side of
the slide is marked with the later model 1914
caliber, model, and serial number marking
with the Kongsberg Crest and no German
occupation era markings. Inspection mark
under the date and behind the rear sight.
Matching serial numbers found on frame,
slide, trigger, safety, mainspring housing, grip
safety, barrel, and slide release. This pistol is
mentioned by serial number on page 131 of “Kongsberg-Colten” by Karl Egil Hanevik.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% original
phosphate finish with handling marks and
some dings throughout. The grips are fine with
small spots of softened checkering and traces of original black varnish in protected areas. The slide lock/slide release needs adjustment as it does not
engage with an empty magazine,
otherwise mechanically excellent.

modified copy of the U.S. Model 1911 pistol used by the Norwegian
army. This Model 1914 features a slide dated “1929” on the right side.
The left side of the slide is marked with the caliber, model, and serial
number marking with the monogram of King Haakon and the Kongsberg
Crest. Inspection mark below the date and behind the rear sight. Matching serial numbers found on slide, frame, trigger, hammer, safety, slide stop, mainspring housing, grip safety, ejector, and magazine catch. Barrel numbered “.758”.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus original phosphate finish with handling marks, a few dings, and high edge wear. The revarnished grips are very good with a few spots of softened checkering and a few dings. The slide lock/ does not reliably activate, otherwise mechanically excellent.

was a slightly modified copy of the U.S. Model 1911 pistol used by
the Norwegian army. This Model 1914 features a slide dated “1928” on
the right side. The left side of the slide is marked with the caliber, model, and serial
number marking with the monogram of King Haakon and the Kongsberg Crest. Inspection mark below the date and behind the rear sight. British Birmingham proofs on the barrel,
slide, and frame. Matching serial numbers found on slide, frame, trigger, hammer, safety,
slide stop, mainspring housing, grip safety, ejector, magazine catch, and barrel.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% original phosphate finish with handling marks and dings. Grips are very good with scattered dings and scratches, and softened checkering. Mechanically excellent.

modified copy of the U.S. Model 1911 pistol used by the Norwegian
army. These pistols are nearly identical to the Colt Model 1911. This
Model 1914 is a pattern gun featuring a slide dated “1927” on the right
side. The left side of the slide is marked with the early model 1914 caliber, model, and
serial number marking with the monogram of King Haakon and the Kongsberg Crest. Inspection mark under the date and behind the rear sight. Matching serial numbers found
on frame, slide, trigger, safety, mainspring housing, grip safety, hammer, ejector, magazine catch, safety, recoil spring guide, recoil spring plug, barrel bushing, and slide release. Barrel is a replacement marked “Colt 45 Auto”.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% original phosphate finish with handling marks, and a patch of light pitting on the slide. The replacement grips are good with some softened spots in the checkering. Mechanically excellent.
