London Nitro proofs, and both barrels have a single band of engraving at the breech.
The casehardened boxlock action features light border engraving, “DANIEL FRASER & Co LTD.”
in banners on either side, carved fences, sideclips, bushed firing pins, double triggers, and tang mounted safety switch with additional bolted safety. Beautiful, highly figured splinter forend with engraved fittings and Anson style release and pistol grip stock with tear drop flats, cheekpiece, inscription oval with a hand inside a sun motif, and red rubber recoil pad. Includes a leather bound takedown case with “M.E.” on the lid and “9.3” in white paint on one end containing two snap caps and a leather sling. Length of pull 14 3/4 inches. Weight 10 lbs 3 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% professionally reapplied blue, 40% original case colors mostly in the protected areas, some areas of minor spotting, and mild handling evidence. The wood is also very fine with scattered small dings and scratches, a slight filler repair next to the bottom tang, a filled sling swivel hole behind the current sling swivel, and crisp checkering. The case is good with moderate wear. Mechanically excellent.

steel barrels with dovetailed blade front and two position (100 and 200 yard/meters) rear sights
on the matted solid rib, “AD. JANSEN FABANT D’ARMES DE S. M .LE ROI” and “27 RUE DE LAMADELEINE, BRUXELLES” marked on the right and left barrels respectively, and standard Belgian proofs on the flats. The
casehardened back action features scroll engraving, “AD. JANSEN/BRUXELLES” on either lock, engraved hammers,
rotary underlever, and double triggers. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and rotary latch and pistol grip stock with engraved blue grip cap, cheekpiece, and checkered bare butt with heel and toe plates. The chamber measurements indicate that this rifle is chambered in .500 Black Powder Express; however, there are no caliber markings on the rifle. Includes a recent black leather takedown case with canvas cover. Length of pull 14 1/4 inches. Weight 7 lbs 10 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% original blue with some thinning, 80% original case colors with some silvering, and mild handling evidence. The wood is also very fine with scattered small dings and scratches and worn but well-defined checkering. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Buckstix Collection. Blued steel barrels with blade and two position rear sight on the matted solid rib, “ARMY & NAVY” and “C.S.L. LONDON” marked on the right and left barrels respectively, import marked under the forend, and London black powder proofs on the flats along with caliber marking of “450EX”. Bright polished boxlock action with near full coverage floral scroll surrounding “ARMY & NAVY CSL” on either side, double triggers, and tang mounted safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-

point checkered walnut splinter forend with engraved fittings and rotary latch release and pistol grip stock with blued grip cap, blank inscription oval, and smooth blued steel buttplate. Includes a takedown case with Army & Navy trade label and gun data sheet listing the
load for this rifle as 3 1/4 inch case loaded with 55 (50 in tropical climates) grains of “NC” powder with a 325 gr. bullet Length of pull 14 9/16 inches. Weight 9 lbs 1 oz. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 98% reapplied blue, softened engraving on the bright polished action, and some areas of pitting along the barrels. The replaced wood is very good with scattered dings and scratches and crisp recut checkering. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.
