         LOT 1423 Documented Antique Parker Brothers Grade 1 Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun - Serial no. 54073, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1888, one of only 851 produced in this configuration according to page 268 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote. Laminated steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CONN. LAMINATED STEEL.”, chambers measured at 2 9/16 with single extractor, and choke constrictions measured at .030/.032 inches. The casehardened top action displays standard Grade 1 light engraving and features “PARKER BROS.” on either side as well as double triggers and rebounding hammers. Lightly figured splinter forend with Deeley latch and pistol grip stock

Rare, Documented, Antique Parker Brothers 16 Gauge DH Grade Underlifter Action Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 18570, 16 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1880. This gun was one of only four ever built in this configuration
by Parker according to page 290 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker,
Price, and Cote. Single steel bead sight on the smooth solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS.
MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL.” and chambers measured at 2 3/4 inches with single extractor. The casehardened underlifter action displays fine light scrollwork and geometric patterns along with pointers
on either lockplate and a woodcock on the underside. The gun also features sculpted fences, double triggers, and rebounding hammers. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Deeley latch release and engraved fittings as well as a round knob pistol grip stock with checkered hard rubber buttplate. The above rare configuration is confirmed on page 113 of “Parker Gun Identification and Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Barrel and stock measurements: bore diameters 9 inches from the breech .676/.670 inches; choke constriction .023/.023 inches; minimum wall thickness .035/.030 inches; 2 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. CONDITION: Fine, showing a silver patina on the action and an attractive cleaned brown patina to the barrels with light wear overall. The reoiled wood is also fine with scattered scratches, a chip in the toe of the buttplate, and crisp recut checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500

the standard Grade 3 engraving consisting of a setter flushing birds on either side of the receiver, a trio of partridge on the underside, and scrollwork surrounding the scenes. The action features sculpted fence, double triggers, and rebounding hammers. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield and skeleton buttplate over checkered bare butt. The above configuration is confirmed on page 205 of “Parker Gun Identification and Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Stock measurements: 1 15/16 inch drop at comb; 3 1/8 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 9 lbs 8 oz. CONDITION: Fine overall, showing an even grey patina on the barrels, 30% plus original case colors, and some spotting along the barrels. The wood shows numerous dings and
scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Manufactured in 1885. Browned Damascus steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL”, chambers measured 2 9/16 inches with single extractor, and choke constrictions measure .030/.036 inches. The casehardened top action displays standard Grade 2 engraving and features double triggers and rebounding hammers. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with blank inscription shield. The above configuration is confirmed on page 196 of “Parker Gun Identification and Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Stock measurements: 1 15/16 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 3 oz. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 40% original case colors with the balance a silver patina and a mix of brown and grey patina on the barrels and some areas of light spotting/pitting. Overall mild handling evidence. The revarnished wood is very good with some dings and scratches and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500
