Exceptional Pre-War Colt Super 38 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Original Box - Serial no. 6917, 38 super cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1930. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the two-line address and patent dates on the left side of the matching numbered slide, and the Rampant Colt next to “COLT SUPER .38/AUTOMATIC” on the right side. The trigger guard is marked “1/VP” and “60” with a short milled trigger, wide knurled
hammer, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, checkered grips, and a two-tone Super 38 magazine. Included with the pistol is a matching hand-numbered Colt “black box” with appropriate white-on-blue Super 38 end label. CONDITION: Near new in box, with 99% plus original blue finish, showing some light
handling marks. The grips are excellent. The box is very good, with a number of tears and corner absences. Mechanically excellent.

Colt Super Match .38 Semi- Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 33942,
38 super auto cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. This is an exceptional example of an original pre-World War II Colt
Model 1911A1 Super Match semi-automatic pistol manufactured
in 1939. These .38 Super Match pistols were manufactured concurrently with the standard
Colt .38 Supers, except they featured a deluxe, hand honed action, polished firing pin stop, Stevens adjustable rear
sight, checkered match trigger with a hand polished super smooth trigger pull. Additionally, they received a highly
polished Colt factory blued finish with all checkered grip panels. Approximately 5,000 of these special higher grade
target pistols were produced in total. The right side of the matching number slide is marked “SUPER MATCH/COLT SUPER .38/AUTOMATIC” followed by the Rampant Colt motif. The opposite side of the slide has Colt’s address marking above
the patent dates. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with “5/VP”. The right side is marked “77”. The barrel is marked “COLT SUPER 38 AUTO MATCH” on the left side and “MB” in a circle on the left side of the lug. Fitted with a high,
wide blade front sight and factory installed adjustable rear sight, polished chamber, serrated slide lock,
checkered thumb safety, arched serrated mainspring housing, replacement checkered plastic grips, and
a narrow checkered hammer. It was originally fitted with a Swartz firing pin safety, which has since been
removed. It is complete with a full-blue magazine marked “COLT SUPER/38 AUTO” on the base plate.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 90% plus of the original high polish blue finish with some light edge
wear showing a smooth grey patina, most noticeably on the leading edges of the slide and frame. The
replacement grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks and otherwise sharp checkering.
Mechanically excellent.
