Outstanding Documented Early Production
Three-Digit Serial Number 129 Colt Super .38 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter - Serial no. 129, 38 super auto cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1929, these Super .38 pistols were first shown to the public at the August 1928 Camp Perry National Matches, and were available for purchase by the start of 1929. The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line address and patent dates while the right side bears the caliber marking along with the
Rampant Colt. The serial number is on the right of the frame, the left of the trigger guard is marked “1” over “VP”, and the right of the trigger guard is marked “20”. Fitted with blade and notch rear sights, wide checkered hammer, long grip safety, arched
checkered mainspring housing, smooth grips with Colt medallions, and a two-tone .38 Super Auto magazine. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips and barrel length not listed) as well as shipment being a one gun shipment to Simmons Hardware Co. in
St. Louis on 26 February 1929.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish with some scattered light handling marks and some very light evidence of holster type wear on the left front of the slide. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.

Exceptional Colt Model 1902 Military Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 41881, 38 Colt auto cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1919. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the slide, lanyard swivel and eight-round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 “Sporting” pistol. Features rear slide serrations, barrel polished at the chamber and muzzle and blue magazine marked “CAL.38 / COLT” on the bottom. Left side of the slide is roll stamped with the standard two block two line patent dates and Hartford address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. Standard two line caliber markings on the right side of the slide. The upper left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a “T” assembler’s mark above the Colt “VP/triangle” proofmark, and “48” on the opposite. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with “COLT” in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center. CONDITION: Excellent plus. The pistol retains 99% plus original bright blue finish with some barely noticeable minor “freckling” present on the muzzle end of the slide. The hammer retains nearly all of the vivid original case colors. The grips are also excellent. The markings are sharp. Mechanically excellent.
