 LOT 1655
Very Rare Two Digit Serial Number “26” Kimball Arms .30 Caliber Carbine Semi- Automatic Pistol with Box - Serial no. 26,
30 Carbine cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. One of less than 250 manufactured between 1955 and 1958. The Kimball was a failed attempt at producing a blowback pistol in .30 Carbine using a series of cut rings in the chamber. In theory, on ignition the casing would swell to fill these rings, delaying extraction long enough for pressure to drop. Of only about 238 manufactured, many were destroyed during use by the severe recoil, making examples in this kind
of condition even rarer. Blade front and fixed
notch rear sights, with the Detroit address on the left side of the chamber, serial number on the right, and finely checkered grips. With correct Kimball box and shipping sleeve.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 85% plus original
blue finish with light spotting overall, and a patch of light pitting by the safety. Grips are very fine with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with splits along the edges and some flaking.
Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500
LOT 1656
Scarce Colt .45 ACP “Kit Gun” Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 00899-B, 45
ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic
grips. Manufactured from 1964 to 1970, these
Colt “Kit Guns” were produced with target
shooters in mind, often being shipped without
sights to be assembled by skilled gunsmiths with whatever sights the shooter
preferred. This is one of only approximately 1,050 such kit guns manufactured
in .45 ACP, with the remainder being manufactured in .38 Special. The left side
of the slide has the Colt “.45 ACP/KIT” marking and Rampant Colt while the right has the Colt address. The serial number is on the right of the frame and the trigger guard is marked “B”
on the left and “0” on the right. It is fitted with a serrated Patridge blade front sight and Micro adjustable rear sight, checkered grips with Rampant Colts, serrated trigger, long grip safety, and an arched serrated mainspring housing.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 80% plus of the original blue finish with some mild chemical type discoloration near the muzzle on the slide and some scattered light handling marks. The warped grips are fair with the right panel cracked and chipped at the bottom and otherwise mostly crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
Provenance: The Gus Cargile Collection.
Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
LOT 1657
Colt “BB” Commercial Government Model
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 335250-
C, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in
1970. This pistol features a “BB” serial number. At the end of the Pre-Series 70
Government model serial number range, Colt produced a limited run of pistols
with the new “accurizer” barrel and bushing which were the key new features to
the Series 70 line. In all, it is estimated that only 1,700 of these specially marked pistols were produced. Slide features the standard marking of a Pre-Series 70 Government model. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks.
The heat shrunken grips are fine with outward warping visible on both panels at the front with otherwise crisp checkering.
Provenance: The Gus Cargile Collection.
Estimate: 1,300 - 1,900
LOT 1658
Very Scarce ODI Viking Combat
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
JF015317, 45 ACP cal., 4 1/4 inch round
bbl., stainless finish, hardwood grips.
One of only approximately 300 made.
The ODI Viking Combat is the only 1911 style pistol built using the Seecamp double action trigger system. This pistol features a commander sized slide and frame with a
serrated arched mainspring housing and serrated fronstrap with the interesting trigger system. The mechanism appears to use a more traditional double action trigger to cock the hammer. Once cocked, the trigger presses against an extra short traditional 1911 trigger to release the hammer and fire the round.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with
a few minor handling marks.
Mechanically excellent.
Provenance: The Gus Cargile Collection. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
LOT 1659
Rare Prototype CAC 45-1 Combat Model
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 1154, 45
ACP cal., 3 7/8 inch round bbl., stainless finish,
walnut grips. Manufactured as a prototype of what
was supposed to become the Mossberg Military .45 ACP Combat Model handgun. These pistols were developed by Bo Clarke as
a possible replacement to the Colt 1911, though after a series of

The frame is also stainless steel, marked “CAC/CARSON, CA.” and “J.M.S.” on the right, and features a distinct hook on the trigger guard for keeping the shooters finger from slipping off in the course of rapid fire.
CONDITION: Very fine, with light handling
marks throughout and some light pitting
near the slide serrations.
Mechanically excellent.
Provenance: The Gus Cargile Collection.
Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
