Early Production Colt
Military Model 1905 Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
1322, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round
bbl., blue finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1906, this is one of only 6,210 Colt “Military Model of
1905” pistols manufactured over a period of six years. These pistols are a
very important evolutionary step in the development of Colt automatic
pistols and the Model 1911 as they were the first production Colt automatic
chambered for the legendary .45 ACP cartridge. The left side of the slide is marked with
the two-line, two-block patent dates and address, with the circled Rampant Colt behind
the serrations. The right side of the slide is marked “AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 45 RIMLESS
SMOKELESS”. The left side of the frame is marked with the serial number, and the left of the
trigger guard has a “VP” proof and “1”. It has rounded blade front and rounded top notch
rear sights, and the rounded checkered hammer. It is fitted with a pair of replacement
diamond pattern checkered grips, an unmarked full blue magazine, and a smooth back
strap not cut for a shoulder stock.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 50% of the original high polish blue finish, faint case color
patterns, and 40% plus of the original niter blue with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily
on edges and the grip straps, and some scattered patches of light surface pitting. The oversize custom made replacement grips are fine with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Gus Cargile Collection.

Pre-World War II Colt
Government Model Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
C147195, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue
finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1926, this is an exceptional
example of a pre-World War II commercial Colt Government Model
pistol. The left side of the slide has the two-line address/patent dates
and the right side has the caliber marking followed by a Rampant Colt. The left of
the trigger guard is marked “1/VP”, and the right is marked “99”. The right side of the
frame has the Government Model marking over the serial number. It has the “improved model” features including the short checkered trigger, wide checkered hammer, dished frame sides, and arched checkered mainspring housing with a lanyard loop. Fitted with full checkered grips and an unmarked full blue magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% original blue finish with spots of brown patina on the top of the slide, noticeable muzzle wear, and a few minor handling marks as well as crisp grip checkering on the otherwise fine grips. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent Pre-War Colt Vest Pocket Model 1908 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box - Serial no. 202819, 25 ACP cal., 2 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1919 with standard two-line address/ patent dates and Rampant Colt on the left of the slide, caliber marking on the right, serial number on the left of the frame, “VP” and “1” marked trigger guard, and standard features. Includes the original Colt maroon box and an extra magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% plus of the original blue and casehardened finishes with only the slightest handling evidence. The grips are also excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with some mild wear.

Government Model
Semi-Automatic Pistol

ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, smooth grips. Manufactured
in 1924, this is an very fine example of a pre-war commercial
Colt Government Model semi-automatic pistol. The left side
of the matching number slide has the two-line address/patent
dates and the right side has the caliber marking followed by a Rampant Colt.
The left of the trigger guard is marked “1/VP”, and the right is marked “51”. The
right side of the frame has the Government Model marking over the serial number.
It has the “improved model” features including the short checkered trigger, wide
checkered hammer, dished frame sides, and arched checkered mainspring housing
with a lanyard loop. Fitted with a pair of period replacement smooth grips and a two-
tone magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with some scattered scratches, handling marks and edge wear, both very light. The period replacement grips
are also very fine with some scattered light handling marks and an attractive aged color overall. Mechanically excellent.

Colt Model 1903 Pocket
Hammer Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. 24448, 38 Colt
auto cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips.
Manufactured in 1909 with fixed sights, the two-line/two-block
patent dates and address on the left side of the slide ahead of the
Rampant Colt, and the caliber markings on the right ahead of the
ejector port. This pistol exhibits the early, bright, high polish factory finish that
was changed to a more dull finish around serial number 36000. The trigger guard is marked “VP” and “6” on the left side, with a checkered casehardened spur hammer, smooth trigger, unmarked full blue magazine, and a pair of hard rubber grips with Colt banners and Rampant Colt imprints.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish
with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina, primarily on edges and a
noticeable patch above the right grip and ahead of the serrations on the slide. The
grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Dr. Robert Azar Collection.

Pre-World War II Colt
Super .38 Semi-Automatic Pistol -
Serial no. 18346, 38 super auto cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue
finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1935, these Super
.38 pistols were first shown to the public at the August 1928
Camp Perry National Matches and were available for purchase by the start
of 1929. The left side of the matching number slide is marked with the two-line
address and patent dates, while the right side bears the caliber marking along
with the Rampant Colt. The serial number is on the right of the frame, the left
of the trigger guard is marked “X” over “VP”, and the right of the trigger guard is
marked “60”. Fitted with blade and notch rear sights, wide checkered hammer, long
grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, checkered walnut grips, and an
ill-fitting full blue .38 Super Auto magazine.
CONDITION: Very good, retains 50% plus of the period refinished blue with the
balance a smooth grey patina, primarily on the edges and grip straps. The grips are fine with some scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Apart from the tight magazine, mechanically fine.
