Excellent Barrett M82A1M Semi-Automatic 50 BMG Rifle with Case
Developed in the early 1980's the M82 series of weapons has been adopted by a number of military forces, where it's long range striking power makes it useful for disabling vehicles, detonating enemy ordnance and sniping at ranges well beyond a conventional rifle. The M82A1M, adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps as the M82A3 Special Application Scoped Rifle, is the latest in the series. A spring loaded folding blade front sight and a folding peep rear sight are integrated into the 23 3/4 inch top-mounted Picatinny rail, with a swiveling carry handle mounted at the "T38" position and the signature 2-chamber chevron muzzle brake on the fluted barrel. The receiver is ported around the barrel, with a folding bipod assembly, AR-15 style pistol grip and safety, and a thick recoil pad. With a Pelican 1750 hard case.

Lot 289
Barrett F A Mfg Co 82a1-Rifle 50 BMG
Developed in the early 1980's the M82 series of weapons has been adopted by a number of military forces, where it's long range striking power makes it useful for disabling vehicles and equipment, detonating enemy ordnance and battlefield sniping at ranges well beyond conventional rifle range. This example has been finished in a mixed green and brown camouflage, with the initials "SR" applied to the right side of the upper receiver and magazine, and the magazine also marked with an arrow passing through a stylized "S". Information provided by the Barrett Firearms Archives which accompany this rifle documented this rifle serial number AA000529 as well as the personalization of it to Staff Sergeant Steven Reichert U.S.M.C. (Ret.), who received the Bronze Star with V Device for an action in Lutafiya, Iraq on April 9, 2004, while serving as overwatch for a Marine patrol. During the patrol, he spotted an improvised explosive device that had been left on the patrol's route. While establishing a cordon around the device, the patrol came under fire; SSGT Reichert engaged multiple hostilities at a range greater than 1600 meters (just over one mile); including a group of 3 insurgents who had taken cover behind a brick wall by shooting through their concealment to kill one and injure the other two. He continued to provide cover even after a communication failure exposed him and his spotter to friendly fire from another unit also attempting to assist the patrol that had mistaken him for a hostile. Following a medical retirement from the Marines, Reichert entered the private sector as a military consultant and trainer, being a founding member of Tier 1 Group, also known as Aggressive Training Solutions, which encompasses a wide range of disciplines including urban combat, forced entry, field medicine and long range precision marksmanship; in this capacity he has traveled worldwide, as well as making a number of television appearances, including the History Channel and Military Channel. SSGT Reichert and Tier 1 group has been supplied a number of items by Barrett Firearms, including this M82 rifle which he used circa 2011-2012. Accompanying this rifle is documentation and personal correspondences between the Barrett factory and Staff Sgt.Reichert. During his time with this rifle Staff Sgt. Reichert reported to the factory as having "used this specific rifle while filming 3 different T.V. shows and have taught 6 classes in 5 countries." Nevertheless this is an exciting and most likely once in a lifetime opportunity to own a well documented and highly desirable rifle once owned by American Hero Staff Sgt. Reichert and comes to Rock Island Auction Company directly from the Barrett Factory Archive Collection.

Lot 290
Barrett F A Mfg Co 82a1-Rifle 50 BMG
Developed in the early 1980's the M82 series of weapons have been adopted by a number of military forces, where it's long range striking power makes it useful for disabling vehicles and equipment, detonating enemy ordnance and battlefield sniping at ranges well beyond conventional rifle range. This example has been finished by the Barrett Factory via the NP3 method, an electroless nickel coating with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, known by the brand name Teflon) co-deposit. Unlike impregnated Teflon, which is applied after the nickel and only serves as an overcoat, co-deposited Teflon is applied simultaneously and is mixed through the entire depth of the nickel, providing for greater wear resistance and lifetime self-lubrication, combined with an attractive satin gray, non-reflective finish. A spring loaded folding blade front sight and a folding peep rear sight are integrated into the 23 3/4 inch top-mounted Picatinny rail, with a swiveling carry handle mounted. The signature 2-chamber chevron muzzle brake is mounted on the fluted barrel, with a ventilated receiver, folding metal bipod, AR-15 style grip and safety, and a rubber padded buttstock with "club foot" style hand rest. With a Pelican 1750 hard case. Again this rifle comes to RIAC directly from the Barrett Factory Archive Collection.

Lot 312
Barrett F A Mfg Co 82a1-Rifle 50 BMG
This is a beautiful example of the impressive and certainly very desirable Barrett M82A1, 50 caliber, semi-automatic, anti-material/anti-personnel rifle, that is fitted with the excellent Barrett Optical Ranging Sniper Scope System (BORS) for short. This excellent rifle is the same exact type that was originally sold to the U.S. Military in the early 1980s, and later became the standard long range 50 cal sniper rifle. The military version of this same exact weapon was used throughout Desert Storm 1, as well as during the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan. These rifles pioneered the long-range sniper rifle and have made documented kill shots out to 2,500 meters. This excellent long range rifle is fitted with the excellent 4.5-14x50mm, Leupold Mark 4 "Long Range Target Scope" LRT, that has been fitted with the "Barrett Optical Ranging System" (BORS) scope. This BORS system is actually a patented, Integrated Ballistics Computer system that mounts directly on the Leupold rifle scope and is coupled to the scope's elevation knob. After determining the range to target, you simply turn the elevation knob until the BORS screen matches your target's distance. Then the internal sensors of the scope automatically calculate the ballistic firing solution for the 50 BMG round of the rifle, so that all you have to do is focus on the target and fire the shot. The BORS system will compensate for temperature, barometric pressure and calculates angle cosine and will also display the rifle cant. The basic rifle has the flip up adjustable front and rear iron sights mounted on top of the full length, Picatinny rail, mounted to the top of the receiver. It has a removable fold-down carrying handle, original factory "arrowhead" shaped muzzle brake, folding M60 style bipod, M-16 style pistol grip and a solid rubber recoil pad. This desirable rifle comes with original heavy duty Pelican storage/carrying case, one original box magazine, Otis cleaning kit, Leupold scope instruction manual, Leupold cloth scope cover, original Barrett rifle/operator manual and 20 rounds of loaded Barrett 661 grain, .50 BMG ammunition and 30 each, once fired, Barrett 50 BMG cartridge cases.
