Lot Contains 3 Items
Lot 2714
Cased Set of 3 Winchester M1 Carbines
Manufactured at the tail end of M1 Carbine production, the six and seven million range M1s were produced concurrently with the M2 Automatic Carbine. This particular group of three, while not sequentially numbered, is united by the included shipping crate. Constructed from pine with spaces for 10 carbines and some accoutrements, the crate retains a partial end label which identifies the ten originally included carbines by serial number, with these three all on the list. Additionally, the carbines retain the majority of a protective plastic film, effectively making them about as close to "factory new" as you'll ever see. Carbine A shows a number of late features, including a Type III bayonet lug, round bolt, adjustable rear sight, flip safety, M2 magazine catch, and a "W" marked oval cut low wood 4-rivet stock. No magazines are included with the lot.

Lot 3604
General Motors M1 Carbine 30 M1 Carbine
This is an exceptional original example of a mid-WWII US military M1 Carbine that was manufactured by the Inland Division of General Motors Corp. This carbine was produced in Dec 1943 and it has the correct wartime features. The front and rear of the receiver has the standard, "US CARBINE/CAL. 30 M1" and "INLAND DIV." over the serial number. The barrel is correctly marked "INLAND MFG DIV/GENERAL MOTORS/12-43" with the long skirt, with the front sight stamped with a "N" on the back side behind the blade. It has the correct early features such as the type two barrel band without the bayonet lug, two position flip rear sight marked with an "S" on the side, flat blued bolt marked "A.I. 3." on the side of the lug, a correct "PI" marked operating slide, with the second pattern trigger guard with the sideways INLAND marking. It has the unmarked push button safety and the smooth face magazine catch release, marked "EI" with no extra catch on the end and a "H.I." marked hammer. It is fitted with a high wood, stock with an oval cutout with a type two, shallow groove, two rivet handguard. Both are "IO" stamped. The stock also has a cross cannon cartouche on the right side with a circled "P" proof on the flat of the pistol grip. It comes with a WWII light green canvas sling. Magazine absent.

"N" marked blade front and "I.R.CO." marked adjustable rear sights, with an Inland barrel dated "7-44", a Type II barrel band, round bolt, milled trigger guard, smooth button safety and a "SI" magazine catch. The stock is the low wood pattern with a "slim jim" pistol grip being the "crossed cannon" stamp on the right side and "RI/8" on the underside, brown leather cheekpad with steel rivets and an oiler, and the spring-loaded buttplate with proper casting numbers on the interior.
