Manufactured in 1868, this is a Second Model 1866 lever action rifle. The rifle features a blade front sight and ladder rear sight on a barrel marked "HENRY'S PATENT-OCT. 16, 1860/KING'S PATENT-MARCH 29, 1866." on the top flat ahead of the rear sight. Brass forend cap, receiver and buttplate. Full length magazine tube, buttplate with compartment and smooth forearm and straight grip stock. The serial number is on the tang under the stock. The underside of the buttstock has provisions for a sling swivel.
