1st (Royal) Dragoons Officer's 1871 pattern helmet c. 1880. With a storage tin having a brass plaque inscribed "H. de Trafford/Royal Dragoons." in script and a red book titled "HISTORICAL RECORD/OF THE/1st DRAGOONS.". A period outfitters tag on the storage tin identifies the helmet's owner as "Capt. H.E.F de Trafford". Very fine overall.
