Manufactured circa 1938 with a heavy Winchester barrel with globe sight and scope blocks mounted on a parkerized Springfield Model 1903 receiver with a polished "NS" bolt hand-numbered to match, N.R.A. style pistol grip stock, Swiss buttplate and a leather sling. Attributed by a previous owner to George Bjornstad, 1963 winner of the U.S. Army Distinguished Marksman Medal, the highest award given in rifle competition, holder of 6 national high-power rifle records by 1964, and namesake of the George Bjornstad Trophy for high-power rifle shooting.
