OE - GOOD - some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal legible; lightly scratched, bruised or minor cracks repaired; in good working order.

Description:

The matching serial number dates to 1885. It is discussed on pages 108 and 1809 of "Colt Cavalry and Artillery Revolvers . . .a Continuing Study" by Kopec and Fenn where it is discussed as a possible scarce Springfield cut-down artillery model. The case is marked "COLT FRONTIER" on the inside on the upper left and has a sticker marked for "Huseyin Turgut/Tuegut" and two empty Middle Eastern .45 Colt cartridge boxes. Documents discussing him are included, and he is also discussed in the book and is identified as a Russian prince who escaped from the Soviet Union and went to Turkey where he was an officer in the Turkish Air Force.
