Consignor notes: A rare Native American pipe tomahawk from the late 18th/19th century with iron blade dovetailed into the brass head which is engraved with a flower and has a rounded bowl. The wooden haft has a turned horn mouth piece. The overall length is 18 3/8", and the head is 6 1/2" long and 2 3/8" across at the edge. Condition: Fine. The iron has some chipping at the edges, oxidation, and minor pitting. The brass has an aged patina and patches of verdigris. The haft has a minor crack at the top, small dings and scratches, and an off center horn mouth piece.
