Desirable New Haven Arms Henry Lever Action Rifle

Manufactured in 1866.The barrel is fitted with a German silver front blade sight and a folding ladder rear sight graduated to "8". The top barrel flat is marked "HENRY'S PAT.OCT.16.1860/MANUFACT'D BY THE NEWHAVEN ARMS CO. NEWHAVEN. CT.", (recut) ahead of the rear sight and the serial number stamped behind the rear sight at the breech. The matching serial number is marked on the inside toe of the buttplate, on the left side of the lower tang under the stock and in the upper tang cut out of the stock. The lower tang is marked with a small "W". The rifle has the distinctive brass receiver and buttplate and an octagon barrel with integral 15-shot magazine. There is a sling loop on the left side of the barrel and a sling swivel on the left side of the stock. Mounted with a smooth oil finished walnut stock with a crescent buttplate with compartment (cleaning rod not included).
