Description:

Manufactured in 1862. The unmarked sword has a 31 1/2" long curved blade and a metal scabbard marked "C.H.C. BROWN" (overall good). According to research provided by the consignor, Brown of New Orleans, LA served in the 1st Co. Battalion, Washington, Louisiana artillery during the Civil War for 4 years. He was wounded and captured at Gettysburg on 5 Jul. 1863, and was again captured in Oct. 1864. The research includes photocopies of Brown's military service records.
