Description:

Ford manufactured approximately 280,000 GPW Jeep 1/4 ton utility vehicles under government contract to meet the production demands that Willys-Overland was unable to during World War II. Of the vehicles produced, over 50,000 were exported to the Soviet Union under the Lend Lease program. This is a post WWII M38 style jeep which has been converted to a late 1945 style GPW. The jeep features a removable vinyl top and doors, standard bucket front and rear bench seats, fuel canister, full size spare tire, standard inline 4 cylinder engine, three speed transmission with reverse, leaf spring suspension and a full OD green U.S.G.I. style paint scheme. The Jeep includes the title and the restoration records dated August 3, 2016, as well as the book "The Military Jeep Complete* Willys MB Ford GPW: All Three Original TMs in Full" from Motorbooks Intl. The odometer lists the mileage as 79.7, likely miles driven after the restoration. A U.S. Army Signal Corps Motorola C-847/U control radio head unit and power supply with a telephone style microphone hand set is also included with the Jeep. Condition is very good in appearance with some small areas of light rust. Mechanically the vehicle runs.
