OC - FINE- all original parts; over 30% original finish, sharp lettering, numerals and design on metal and wood; minor marks in wood.
Only manufactured in 1857-1860. Only around 300 in this barrel length were manufactured whereas around 1,000 of the 8" barrel version were produced. The barrel has "PATENT FEB. 14, 1854" over "CONN" (part of the lightly struck New Haven address). "2142" is marked on the right side of the lever and butt and inside of each grip. This is a very significant model for Winchester collectors as it was the predecessor to the famous Henry Rifle. Provenance: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection.
