Description:

Includes a write-up from military historian Carl James Decker listing it as a Model 1906-06 Experimental Cavalry Saber and noting only 1,039 of the experimental variation were made as part of a government contract for 20,000 sabers which were an update from the Model 1860 Cavalry sabers of the Civil War. Also includes "Provisional Regulations for Saber Exercise" from 1907. Fine with light gray patina, patches of dark pitting mainly in the front portion of the blade, dark aged patina on the hilt, mild wear including flaking of the skin on the handle, and distinct markings.
