These rifles belonged to Colonel Hubert "Hub" Zemke of World War II fighter pilot fame. Zemke and his unit are the subject of Roger A. Freeman's "Zemke's Wolf Pack: The Story of Hub Zemke and the 56th Fighter Group in the Skies over Europe" (copy included). With a canvas sling and a Weaver scope. Both rifles have a deer scene engraved on the floorplate, "HZ" on the trigger guard, and a carved schnabel tip.
