Description:

This piece is a Victorian era decorative, non-firing flintlock pistol with Ottoman themed cloisonne decorations including a man wearing a turban on top possibly meant to be an Ottoman sultan. The other surfaces of the brass constructed "pistol" are nickel plated. The wrist has "CHRISTMAS 1885/from my/STAFF" in varying scripts surrounded by scrollwork. Unfortunately, there are no other markings or records indicating who it was given to. Some of the components may have originally been part of a real firearm. Fair. The vast majority of the cloisonne decoration remains with only light cracking and very minor flaking. The cock is detached but is included. Some of the components are loose or absent.
