Receiver manufactured in 1930. The included document attributes this Springfield Model 1903 to Holland, Michigan gunsmith Herman Prins. The letter goes on to mention that both Prins and Keith used this rifle on a mountain goat hunting trip with the legendary Elmer Keith. The story of the hunt itself is recounted starting on page 281 of Elmer's book "Elmer Keith's Big Game Hunting". Features a blue receiver, parkerized barrel, altered bolt and jewelled bolt, adjustable trigger, and custom safety. The receiver is fitted with Redfield scope bases and Carl Zeiss Zielklein scope.
