Description:

Manufactured c. 1855-57 as 1 of approximately 1,500 built with an 8" barrel. This pistol was manufactured before Oliver Winchester acquired the majority of the Volcanic Repeating Arms Co. stock and reorganized it as the New Haven Arms Co. in 1857. The top barrel flat is partially marked "The VOLCANIC/REPEATING ARMS CO./PATENT NEW HAVEN CONN FEB 14 1854." with the first part not visible.
