The rifle has two keystone, square cut, compensating springs. The right side of the barrel chamber is stamped with a punch-marked "P" proof mark but no date or "SA" markings. The upper barrel band has the ferrule at the junction with the gas cylinder, and the middle and lower barrel bands are grooved. The early, "long tail" follower is marked "2" on the bottom. The operating rod catch is bright and stamped "A" on the right side. The bullet guide is marked "B8875 SA". The follower arm and follower rod are not marked. The milled trigger guard is marked: "C-46025-1SA". The trigger housing lacks a pad and is marked "B 28290 SA". The flat top safety is marked: "C-46015-4SA", and the hammer is marked "C46008-2 SA".
